Project Management - Risk Management
Overview
In this program, participants will develop the skills needed to identify and classify aspects of risk management within a project. This program specifically involves assisting the project team to plan, control and review risks associated with the project and to develop risk mitigation strategies.

Project team members and project managers.
Content
- Identify risks and develop risk management strategies
- Controlling risks, monitoring risks (with an emphasis on variation management) and reviewing risk management within the project
- Assisting in qualitative and/or quantitative risk analysis, such as schedule simulation, decision analysis, contingency planning and alternative strategy development
- Using specialist risk analysis tools to assist in the decision making process
Learning Outcomes
- Conduct risk analysis and planning and prioritise potential risks
- Develop risk management strategies and risk management plans within established guidelines
- Plan reporting mechanisms for risks and gain agreement as required
- Conduct risk control activities
- Measure progress
- Act on perceived, potential or actual risks within authority and report to others for response
- Review project outcomes to determine the effectiveness of risk management activities by accessing project records and other available information on an ongoing basis

- BSBPMG407A - Apply risk management techniques
or
- BSBPMG508A - Manage project risk
These units of competency are required units for either the Certificate IV in Project Management or the Diploma of Project Management.
