Human Resources Introduction

Overview

This program examines the skills and knowledge required to support work across a range of human resources functional areas, assist in the effective implementation of a performance management system and facilitate employee performance. This program will provide partici­pants with a strong basis for working across various human resources functional areas.

Designed For

Newly appointed human resource officers or managers, line managers or supervisors who need to enhance their knowledge of the human resource function and associated policies and procedures.

• The fundamentals of human resource management
• Reviewing and analysing human resources policies and procedures
• Human resources and ethical obligations
• Reporting on HR functions and recommendations
• Writing position descriptions
• Organisational performance, KPIs and the role of HR
• Reviewing performance management systems
• Promoting performance management systems
• Analysing performance management data

Learning Outcomes

• Research and identify the main activities of the human resource management function
• Critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of human resources policies and procedures including performance management
• Evaluate performance management polices and procedures
• Promote and monitor performance management systems

Relationship to Accredited Training

This course meets the requirements of the following units of Competency:

• BSBHRM401A - Review human resources functions
• BSBHRM403A - Support performance management process

These units can be undertaken as Core units toward BSB41007 Cer­tificate IV in Human Resources or as Electives towards other qualifica­tions within Business Services Training Package.
